PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for producing an optical recording medium capable of machining the optical recording medium to a prescribed shape without breaking the optical recording medium. SOLUTION: This device for producing the optical recording medium in which the positioning is performed by fixing the hardened synthetic resin is provided with a working stand on which the hardened synthetic resin is placed while making one main surface of the synthetic resin face outward, thrust bearings which are disposed on plural parts of the working stand and abutted on the one main surface of the synthetic resin placed on the working stand and fixing members having screw means which are attached to the working stand by making the thrust bearings as the bearings.
