PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an electrode structure that exhibit satisfactory properties and high dimensional accuracy and high efficiency, without damaging the electrode structure during the manufacturing process, and can be manufactured in a safe and small man-hours. SOLUTION: This method of manufacturing an electrode structure, comprising the steps of arranging a substrate material in the indented part formed in the metal mold, degassing the substrate material, introducing a reaction material into the indented part, impregnating the substrate material with the reaction material in a heated metal mold, cooling the metal mold and solidifying a conduction aid material impregnated with the reaction material, and separating the metal mold and taking out the electrode structure made of the substrate material impregnated with the reaction material. The metal mold also has a gap for filling reaction material, which is in communication with the indented part thereof, and an opening for communicating the gap with the outside.
