<p>A multilayer capacitor which is prevented from the occurrence of cracks by restricting the expansions in a laminate direction and a width direction, and which is provided with a capacitor element (10) formed by alternately laminating dielectric layers (11a, 11b) and inner electrodes (12). The capacitor element (10) is obtained by laminating and firing dielectric paste layers and inner electrode paste layers. An expansion coefficient x in a laminate direction is within a range of ±0.05i%, preferably up to 0% or -10% to 0%, where i is the number of laminates; and an expansion coefficient y in a width direction is preferably within a range of -0.05i% to 0%. The expansion coefficients x, y can be controlled by adding carbon materials or lithium contents to inner electrode paste layers or by decreasing the thickness of the outermost dielectric layer (11b), whereby the occurrence of cracks is restricted and a fraction defective can be reduced.</p> |
