The filtration device (1) for liquids comprises a filtration beaker (2) fill ed with a filtration material (4), whereby the bottom thereof (3) is provided with at least one sieve-like outlet for a liquid, in addition to comprising a lid (5), predetermining an inner volume (Vi), comprising at least one inlet (8) for the liquid and one air vent (10) for the removal of air and which is connected to the filtration beaker (2) in a liquid-tight manner. A sieve-lik e textile fabric (12) is disposed in between the filtration beaker (2) and the lid (5). In order to guarantee secure operation and ensure a good retaining effect with respect to particles having a size of approximately 200 .mu.m at different filtration-material fill heights in the filtration beaker, the sie ve- like textile fabric (12) has at least one formed part (13) protruding into t he inner volume (Vi) of the lid (5), whereby air can be found on both sides of the part (14) of the textile fabric (12) which is located the furthermost aw ay from the filtration beaker (2).
