The robust cage is cubic in form and has a palletized base (12;32,33) for fork-lift handling. A top frame (14), on corner uprights (13), has eyebolts (34) to facilitate crane handling. Detachable grills (15) on each side bar access except to a control panel (29) in one corner. The IC engine (20) has a vertical silencer (22) and exhaust (23), and is coupled to the air compressor and to the hydraulic pump. Fuel and hydraulic fluid tanks are included, also two hydraulically controlled airless pumps. A computer with flowmeter input calculates the volume of paint or other coating dispensed by each pump. Hose reels and spray-guns are also provided. While the compact and self-contained nature of the unit allows it to be located at virtually any point on site, even high up on tall structures, the invention also covers its installation on a suitably adapted truck, van or trailer also having accommodation for several drums of paint or other coatings, with appropriate hose connections to the unit. A typical enclosed van has adjacent compartments for unit and drums, accessible for fork-lift loading through wide side and end doors. A flexible pipe connects the exhaust to a roof outlet. Floor rails ensure all items are fully secure in transit. All equipment is readily removable for redeploying at locations with no vehicle access. |
