spray drying of solutions and suspensions, applicable in metallurgical, chemical, pharmaceutical, biological and food industries for production of powder-like granular materials. SUBSTANCE: the spray drying installation has a vertical cylindrical drying chamber, discharge cone, bar with a nozzle positioned in the lower part of the chamber, ring header, contracting drying gas feed convection positioned under the nozzle, horizontal and vertical pipe connections, upper turbulent drying gas inlet, gas-distributing device, control valve and a counter-body installed in the axis of the contracting gas feed connection. Due to the use of the ring header, contracting and vertical pipe counterbody, horizontal and vertical pipe connections, gas-distributing device and control valve, the thermal head between the drying gas and the dispersed product on ascending section of the trajectory increases, hollow spray gets contracted, specific power consumption for evaporation of moisture is reduced, the chamber diameter and adherence of damp products to the wall and to the chamber bottom decrease. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of drying process, and reduced overall dimensions of the drying chamber. 2 dwg
