The invention provides a new method for simultaneous detection of two or more analytes in a sample. In one aspect, a first enzyme, such as a hydrolase, is associated with a first analyte; a second enzyme, such as an oxidase, is associated with a second analyte; and substrates are provided so that the product of the two resulting enzymatic reactions chemically combine to form a third reaction product. Detection of the third reaction product is correlated with the presence of both the first analyte and the second analyte in the sample. |
