<p>A method of promoting the regeneration of the liver; a novel method for treating the liver suffering from liver failure or liver diseases associated with abnormalities in liver function or after vital liver transplantation; and a method of judging the liver regeneration ability. Namely, liver regeneration promoters and remedies for liver failure or liver diseases characterized by comprising preparations containing vascular growth factors such as vascular endothelial growth factor and/or vascular permeation factor (VEGF/VPF). These preparations are usable in the regeneration of the liver after vital liver transplantation. A method of judging the liver regeneration ability, which is characterized by measuring the expression dose of vascular growth factors such as vascular endothelial growth factor and/or vascular permeation factor (VEGF/VPF), is also provided.</p> |
