PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce organic agricultural crops with saved labors at a low cost without using a herbicide and agrochemicals for controlling pests. SOLUTION: Substances called saponins of glycosides are contained in a part of plants. The kinds and contents of the saponins depend on the kinds of the plants and on the parts of the plant bodies. Since a large amount of a saponin is contained in camellia oil-extracted residues, the camellia oil- extracted residues are scattered on a paddy field, after rice seedlings are planted in the paddy field. The generation of weeds can thus be prevented by the action of the saponin.
