PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label printer in which a single bar code can be employed when a bar code label affixed to a discounted article is read out by means of a scanner at a POS terminal of register without discriminating the original bar code of the article between PLU and NON-PLU. SOLUTION: In the inventive label printer, the bar code of CODE 128 is printed on a discount label if the bar code of an article read out by means of a scanner is JAN, PLU and the bar code of JAN, NON-PLU is printed on the discount label if the original bar code is JAN, NON-PLU.
