PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multicolor image-forming apparatus which can form high-quality images with inexpensive constitution and can be made compact. SOLUTION: A generation timing of a line sync signal which regulates an image write timing in a horizontal scanning direction of laser beams of each color is set as line syncsetting data for indicating a time interval (passed time) from a K color detect signal SOS (K). The data is set so that M and C color line sync signals are generated with a delay of a 180 deg. rotation (six reflecting faces) of a rotary polygon mirror to K and Y color line sync signals. Time intervals between the K color detect signal SOS (K) and the other color detect signals SOS (Y), EOS (M) and EOS (C) are respectively measured. When the time interval changes, the line sync-setting data of each color is corrected on the basis of an amount of the change (amount of the change of each interval count value), thereby maintaining a first writing position in the horizontal scanning direction. |
