PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the display effect of goods by raising the illuminance of a fluorescent lamp to goods in a storage chamber and making the illuminance to goods on the same shelf substantially equal even when the lower edge part of a cover is not horizontal. SOLUTION: A low temperature showcase comprises a heat insulating box body 4 having an opening 2 in a front surface and a storage chamber 3 therein, a glass door 22 for closing the front opening 2 of the heat insulating box body 4 so as to be openable, a lighting lamp 40 disposed on the upper part of the front surface of the glass door 22 and a cover 34A with which the lighting lamp 40 is covered. The cover 34A protrudes forward of the glass of the glass door 22. The distance of the lower edge part 34E of the cover 34A from the lighting lamp 40 gradually changes. The lower edge part 34E of the cover 34A is provided with an opened cut-out part 44. The edge part 49 of the cut-out part 44 gradually changes in its front in accordance with the distance between the lower edge part 34E of the cover 34A and the lighting lamp 40.
