PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial soil which uses pressed soil waste soil obtained is the course of collecting gravels and can effectively use the pressed soil not containing stone as a soil. SOLUTION: This artificial soil comprises a mixture of pressed soil with waste organic materials containing fibrous materials. The pressed soil and the waste organic materials, such as waste sawdust, which have effectively not been used can thereby be used, and the obtained artificial soil which is hard not solidified in spite of containing the pressed soil, and contains nutrients equal to those of conventional soil can thus be provided. Since especially not containing stones, the artificial soil can suitably be used as a soil for horticulture, and so on.
