PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exercise the impact energy absorbing ability of a cylindrical member obtained by injection molding a thermoplastic resin, in maximum. SOLUTION: This impact energy absorbing device 1 comprises a delaminatable cylindrical member 2 obtained by injection molding a thermoplastic resin while at least partially orientated obliquely to the axial direction of the cylindrical member, and a trigger 3 having an insertion part 4 fitted to an opening end of the cylindrical member, and an enlarged part 5 integrally molded with the insertion part 4. The trigger 3 is entered into the cylindrical member 2 by the axial impact, and breaks the member 2 to delaminate the same, whereby the impact energy is absorbed. |
