PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain fermented milk having good flavor and containing a large amount ofγ-amino butyric acid(GABA). SOLUTION: This method for producing GABA-containing fermented milk is to process a milk product with a protease, subsequently inoculate lactic bacteria and/or bacteria belonging to the genus Bifidobacterium having glutamic acid decarboxylase-producing performance and culture the milk product.
