PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-deck elevator without taking a space for a hoist way, enhancing rigidity of a cage, capable of obtaining comfortableness for a passenger. SOLUTION: This double-deck elevator, having a cage 20 provided with a car room comprising an upper/lower car room 26a, 26b in upper/lower two steps in a cage frame 21, is constituted by providing two or more sheaves 32 in an intermediate part in a height direction of the cage frame 21 so as to wind a main rope 33, supporting this cage 21 vertically moved, to the sheave 32.
