PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high-quality images by reducing a density unevenness in output images. SOLUTION: A light-emitting element having a beam diameter in a vertical scanning direction different from a natural beam diameter (reference beam diameter) is turned on by a plurality of the number of times with an intensity (quantity of light) different from a natural intensity in response to one lighting signal. A position is changed in the vertical scanning direction at this time. A synthetic profile is thus agreed with a profile of the natural beam diameter. A density unevenness caused by a variation of the beam diameter in the vertical scanning direction by each light-emitting element is suppressed accordingly.
