SLUDGE DEHYDRATING METHOD

PURPOSE: Disclosed is a sludge dehydrating method that is accompanied by adding fuel oil, surfactant, and solvent having low boiling point to sludge for preparing an emulsion of water/oil tending to promote dehydration efficiency. CONSTITUTION: To achieve this method, wastewater derived sludge is mixed with fuel oil in the ratio of 1:1 to 1:9, and then 1-5 wt.% of a surfactant having 5-15 of HLB value is added to the admixture of sludge and fuel oil. Additionally, a solvent having low boiling point such as alcohols and ketones is added. After mixing, an emulsion of sludge, fuel oil, surfactant, and solvent is dewatered by using conventional mechanical processes such as belt press, filter press, and centrifugal separator.
