PURPOSE: A fabric amount detecting method prevents error due to initial position of a rotor and compensates thermal variation to accurately detect fabric amount to optimize washing performance. CONSTITUTION: A fabric amount detecting method comprises a first step(S1, S2), a second step(S3, S4) and a third step(S5, S6). A first step(S1, S2) is to rotate a rotator of a washing motor to a specific position when a fabric amount detecting signal is inputted. The second step(S3, S4) is to drive the washing motor and measure acceleration time required for the washing motor to rotate by half. The third step(S5, S6) is to calculate the fabric amount using the acceleration time measured in the second step(S3, S4) and current temperature of the washing motor. |
