PURPOSE: A process of preparing an electrogalvanized steel sheet by zinc plating in a chloride solution of neutral pH is provided. Whereby, the steel sheet has excellent limiting current density and cathode current efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A steel sheet is subjected to zinc plating with a solution containing 10 to 50g/L zinc ion, 25 to 100g/L chlorine ion, 0.1 to 2ml/L ethylene glycol modified polymer compound as a brightening agent and polyhydroxy organic acid as a complexing agent in a neutral solution having a pH 6 to 7 at a flow rate of 2m/sec or more. The concentration of polyhydroxy organic acid in the solution is 6 times the zinc ion.
