PURPOSE: A cylinder type striper for operating a yarn guide by proving fluid or compressed air to a fluid pump according to a signal inputted in a computer for switching a yarn feed device in a knitting machine is provided, which makes it possible to change feed yarns during operating the knitting machine and can knit various patterns and promotes productivity by improving operating efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A striper comprises a separating plate(31), a yarn guide(33), a yarn holder separating plate(34), a moving cutter(35) and a standing cutter(36). The striper comprises a back housing(10) with a high pressure inlet(101) and a low pressure inlet(100); a housing holder(11) containing a high pressure flow channel(110), a low pressure flow channel(112) and a plurality of cylinder holes(111); a piston rod(13) attached to the housing(1); and an electronic switching valve(2) for controlling the flow direction of fluid.
