WATER-BASED INK FOR INK-JET RECORDING

A water-based ink for ink-jet recording which comprises: (A) an aqueous dispersion of vinyl polymer particles comprising a water-insoluble vinyl polymer obtained by copolymerizing (a) a monomer containing a salt-forming group, (b) a monomer represented by the formula (I): CH2=C(R<1>)COO(R<2>O)pR<3> (wherein R<1> represents hydrogen or lower alkyl; R<2> represents a divalent hydrocarbon group optionally having a heteroatom; R<3> represents a monovalent hydrocarbon group optionally having a heteroatom; and p is a number of 1 to 60), (c) a macromer, and (d) a monomer copolymerizable with these and an oil-soluble black dye or carbon black incorporated in the polymer; and (B) an aqueous carbon black dispersion having the same ionicity as the aqueous dispersion (A), and in which the proportion of the aqueous dispersion (A) to the aqueous dispersion (B) is from 5/95 to 95/5 by weight on a solid basis.
