The device is for gripping pieces of food to remove them from a device keeping them warm and comprises two flat, elongated components with a connection on their narrow sides. The two components are movable around an axis in an acute angle arrangement and on their outsides have holding components (3.1,3.2). The connection between the two components is elastic. The one component (1) is narrower than the other (2). The components have hand (5.1,5.2) and grip (6.1,6.2) sections. In the grip sections are recesses (7.1,7.2).
