An ammoxidation catalyst characterized by the following empirical formula comprising: VSbaSnbTicFedOx; where 1</=a</=1.8, 0</=b</=0.35, 0</=c</=0.15, 0<d</=0.8, 0<b+c</=0.5, 1</=a-d<1.8 and when a-d>1.2 then 0<d</=0.5 and 0.3</=b+c</=0.5 and when a-d</=1.2 then 0.2<d</=0.8 and 0<b+c<0.3 and x is determined by the oxidation states of the cations present in the catalyst. Preferably, the catalyst has been calcined at a temperature of at least 780 DEG C. |
