PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fine positioning actuator capable of simplifying its assembling operation without obstructing its operation, an actuator for positioning a thin film magnetic head element, and a head suspension assembly provided with the actuator. SOLUTION: In this actuator that utilizes piezoelectric effect and that is intended to position an object by being fixed between the object to be positioned or a magnetic head slider and a supporting mechanism, at least three first projections having a smooth tip end are provided at dispersed positions on the surface on the supporting mechanism side of this actuator; and these first projections are designed to have a height at which the tip end comes into contact with the surface of the supporting mechanism.
