PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a uniaxial chassis dynamometer capable of performing warming up operation of a roller in easy work without performing input operation of at least the bad working efficiency. SOLUTION: A centering device 20 is provided for placing a driving wheel 18 on a top part 14 of a roller in performing a performance test of an automobile 10 by placing the driving wheel 18 of the automobile on the top part 14 of a peripheral surface of the roller 13 by installing the roller 13 on a main shaft of a dynamo body having a motor, and in this centering device 20, in a uniaxial chassis dynamometer capable of setting wheel setting positions b, b and wheel releasing positions a, a, the centering device 20 is constituted so as to be capable of setting wheel pushing-up positions c, c for separating the driving wheel 18 upward from the top part 14 of the roller while contacting with a peripheral surface of the driving wheel 18.
