PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent display in the total display region by eliminating display unevenness in the vicinity of a liquid crystal injection port of a liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is equipped with the liquid crystal panel comprising upper and lower substrates SUB2, SUB1, at least one of which is provided with an electrode group for selection of pixels, placed opposite to each other via a liquid crystal layer and stuck to each other via a sealant SL surrounding its display region AR and having a rift to function as the liquid crystal injection port INJ on a part of the surrounding and having the port INJ sealed with a capping material after injection of the liquid crystal through the port INJ. A projecting spacer SPC-2 to control the cell gap of the port is formed on the port INJ in such a way as to be fixed to the upper or lower substrate SUB2 or SUB1.
