PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the head switching time from surpassing a desired time by stopping the increase of an inter-head offtrack while a magnetic disk device operates due to dimple slip of a head support mechanism. SOLUTION: This device carries out a CSC or an unload operation when the head switching time becomes long.
