PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared stress distribution image system capable of accurately converting a temperature change distribution image into a stress change distribution image even in the case that an object comprises plural different materials. SOLUTION: This infrared stress distribution image system forms a frame image of a stress distribution by applying a load to a sample at a prescribed period, integrally measuring a temperature change of a sample surface caused by a thermoelastic effect by an infrared camera to separately create a plus temperature image and a minus temperature image, and determining a difference between the two integrated temperature images. For the purpose of converting the picked-up temperature images of the sample into the stress distribution image, the infrared stress distribution image system has a means for setting plural areas in the temperature images, a means for setting a thermoelastic coefficient in each the set area, and a means for converting the temperature images into the stress distribution image on the basis of the thermoelastic coefficients set in the respective areas.
