PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector which has an ability of surely detecting half connection of the retainer. SOLUTION: To a female housing 11 of a connector 10, a relief part 20 is equipped to adjust itself toward bending direction of a lock arm 14, only when a retainer 15 is connected to proper stopping position. The deformation of the lock arm 14 is made possible by adapting to this relief part 20, allowing connection with a male housing 12. Meanwhile, at state of half-connection where the retainer 15 has not reached proper stopping position, the lock arm 14 is restrained from enough deformation, the female housing 11 and male housing 12 cannot be fit, and so half-connection of the retainer 15 is detected, since the relief part 20 is at improper position. Thus, half-connection detection can surely be made by making the bending volume of the lock arm 14 larger than the clearance between both housings 11, 12.
