PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a description of a simple form for a user dialog in order to make SMIL more attractive and useful to describe a scene or presentation. SOLUTION: A means for an interactive description is provided as an extension of SMIL specifications. A new element executes event sensing and attribute change as a form to respond to a user and a time event. The element is provided with an additional capability for easy use when a state change-over mechanism is executed.
