PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a means constituting a copying device and to make copying work efficient at the same time. SOLUTION: In this copying device 6 having a ROM 7 for control software accessing a copy master 9 and targets 10, the ROM 7 for control software checks whether or not data distribution information exists in the master 9, checks the data distribution information showing where the real data of the master 9 exists after the checking when the data distribution information does not exist in the master 9, copies the real data of the master 9 into the targets 10 on the basis of the data distribution information and also stores the data distribution information in the master 9. When the data distribution information exists in the master 9 after the checking, the real data of the master 9 is copied into the targets 10 on the basis of the data distribution information stored in a data distribution information storage area.
