摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for readily manufacturing an electrode catalyst for a polymer electrolyte type fuel cell that can make manifest superior proper ties using a small quantity of platinum. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing an electrode catalyst layer for a polymer electrolyte type fuel cell includes (a) process for preparing catalyst composition, including at least noble metal ion and hydrogen conductive polymer electrolyte, (b) process for applying the catalyst composition to hydrogen ion conductive electrolyte film or gas diffusion layer or dipping the hydrogen ion conductive polymer electrolyte film or the gas spreading layer to the catalyst composition, and (c) process for reducing noble metal ions included in the catalyst composition.
