SUBSTANCE: traffic control using, for example, data-item blocks for traffic measurements in network using asynchronous mode of transmission includes following operations: maintenance of continuously varying value showing if individual traffic block can be transmitted; variation of mentioned value so that traffic intensity lower than particular predetermined value changes mentioned value in first direction but not more than to first predetermined limit and traffic intensity higher than mentioned predetermined value changes mentioned value in second direction ; rejection of traffic blocks at instant when this value in mentioned second direction rises to particular predetermined second limit. In order to ensure saving of frequency band of system, mentioned value is also changed for traffic blocks being rejected in mentioned second direction but not more than to particular predetermined third limit (-D, H); when mentioned value is between second and third limits, it should change again in first direction at least to mentioned second limit before traffic blocks are received.
