摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calibration standard for calibrating an eddy current inspection probe sized and shaped to inspect a preselected non-planar surface shape of a manufactured part. SOLUTION: In a calibration standard 10 for calibrating an eddy current inspection probe sized and shaped to inspect a preselected non-planar surface shape of a manufactured part, the surface shape extends in a longitudinal an a lateral directions and has an end profile as viewed in the longitudinal direction having a substantially invariant shape and a substantially invariant orientation. The calibration standard 10 includes a body 14 having a non-planar surface 18 extending in a longitudinal direction 22 and a lateral direction 24. The standard also has an end profile as viewed in the longitudinal direction 22 of the surface 18 substantially identical to the end profile of the surface shape. The surface 18 of the body 14 has an elongate narrow opening 20 extending into the body 14 substantially normal to the surface 18 and traversing the surface 18 of the body 14 at a substantially constant angle 26 with respect to the longitudinal direction 22 of the surface 18 as viewed normal to the surface 18. A manufacture for the calibration standard 10 is also provided.
