PROCESS FOR PRODUCING POLYPEPTIDE

A process for producing a desired polypeptide by using rat cells. More particularly speaking, a process for producing the polypeptide which compris es culturing rat cells such as YB2/3HL.P2.G11.16Ag.20 (hereinafter referred to as YB2/0), preferably rat cells obtained by transferring a recombinant DNA containing a DNA encoding the desired polypeptide such as an immunologically functional molecule, in a serum-free medium. Among the desired polypeptides obtained by this method, an antibody obtained by, for example, using transformants of YB2/0 has a high antibody-dependent cytotoxic activity and thus is useful as drugs.
