Exhaust gas purification device comprises a housing and an exhaust gas body (3) positioned under a mat (2). The housing has a bearing section (1) in the form of a cylindrical tubular section. The bearing section has two beads (4) that extend in the peripheral direction and are directed inwardly. The beads are arranged outside of the region covered by the mat neighboring the front edges (5) of the mat. The height of the beads is at least the 50% of the thickness of the mat. At least one of the beads is inserted into the bearing section after pressing the exhaust gas body. Preferred Features: The beads extend over the whole periphery of the bearing section. The mat has a lower extension in the axial direction than the exhaust gas purification body.
