A procedure for the monitoring and/or fan speed control of a heating apparatus, especially a water- or air-heating apparatus of a car run with fuel in the form of a to-heater or a stationary heating unit, is described. There is a combustion chamber (1) and a fan (2) for the supply of combustion air plus a control apparatus. By means of sensors, the heating apparatus is monitored and/or the speed of the fan is controlled. By a pressure or noise pressure sensor (3), the flame in the combustion chamber and/or the fan speed is monitored. Where necessary, the monitored signal is re-used, especially re-processed, for the control or fan speed control of the heating apparatus.
