<p>A method is provided for preventing a polymer optical fiber from burnout on its end to which high-energy light is incident. A cooling booth (5) filled with transparent liquid is provided between one end of a fiber (6a) and the corresponding end of an optical system (lenses (2) and (4)) including a light source (1). The transparent liquid cools the end of the fiber (6a) and shields it from the air.</p> |
