<p>A fingerprint imaging doorbell actuator that can be used by itself or incorporated into an integrated security system. The apparatus allows an occupant of a building to monitor and record the approach of visitors to the buildings, including reading and recording the fingerprints of the visitors. The integrated security system comprises generally an exterior wall mountable panel (200) interconnected to an interior panel (100). The integrated security system includes a fingerprint imaging doorbell actuator (15), an audio intercom system, preferably a video transmission means (16) interconnected to a motion detector (19), and means for recording audio, video, and fingerprint images (15A). A finger guide (80) is preferably disposed on the front side of the doorbell switch housing, the finger guide (80) being configured to position the finger of the visitor in a generally vertical orientation to thereby facilitate accurate reading of the fingerprint by the fingerprint imaging means (50).</p> |
