<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a volume decreasing means for a foamed polystyrene which can seal a vessel even if a packing is swollen and can shut a lump of the foamed polystyrene in the volume decreasing liquid by putting a lid on an aperture of the vessel and pushing it in the vessel and can solve problems in the prior art (1) that a volume decreasing liquid extracted from citrus fruits is not usable because it swells a conventional packing made of rubber or the like and (2) that it is necessary to increase a rate of solubilizing a lump of foamed styrene by pushing the foamed polystyrene floating on the volume decreasing liquid in the volume decreasing liquid. SOLUTION: A volume decreasing means is provided with a vessel which holds a lump of foamed polystyrene and a volume decreasing liquid for decreasing the volume of the lump of the foamed polystyrene, a lid covering an aperture of the vessel, a circular packing having an insertion groove for insertion of the margin of the vessel or a margin of the lid for sealing the vessel and an insertion groove formed in the vicinity of the margin of the vessel or the margin of the lid for sealing the margin of the vessel or the margin of the lid inserted in the insertion groove of the circular packing.</p> |
