PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste compression device to protrude a spike pin only when a plastic containers such as PET bottle are compressed. SOLUTION: When no spike pin 15 is required, a space between a base plate member 12 and a slide plate member 13 is kept to be a space where the spike pin 15 is not protruded from a lower surface of the slide plate member by inserting a spacer member 31 between the base plate member 12 and the slide plate member 13. When the spacer member 31 is removed, the slide plate member 13 is retracted upward against the spring force of a coil spring during the compression, and the spike pin 15 provided on the base plate member 12 is protruded.
