A scanning device connected to a computer such as a PC, notebook, and/or hand held computing device operates in conjunction with special software that receives from the device information and determines whether the information comprises a web page, e-mail or keyword address. If a web page, a stored program automatically connects the PC to the web page or at least stores the address for a later retrieval, uploading or use. If an e-mail address, the software or program automatically interfaces with an e-mail program that is automatically pre-addressed to the e-mail address that has been scanned by the scanning device. If keyword(s) of another kind, the software invokes the appropriate web site or proprietary network, passing the keyword or keywords in the format appropriate for that web site or network. |
