PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cup holder for a vehicle with total height restricted for more stably holding cups of various sizes, formed compact, with excellent design freedom degree. SOLUTION: This cup holder 2 comprises a stopper 6 for regulating a moving range of a tray 4, a clearance groove 28, an operation part 20 at a tip, and a containing part 22b provided in the operation part 20. The tray 4 comprises a plate-shaped place part to be put into/out of the containing part 22b and a support part on the rear side with the support part rotatably connected to the stopper 6 and engaged with the clearance groove with play through a shaft part 48. For putting it in a usage condition, the holder 2 is solely pulled out for an equivalent part to the clearance groove leaving the tray 4 receiving locking actuation of the stopper 6, and for putting it in a storage condition, the holder is solely pushed in, then pushed in with the tray 4.
