PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an embossed decorative sheet in which an embossed uneven pattern can be formed on the surface of a sheet precisely in god reproducibility while the sheet is prevented from being caught by a press roll in high speed embossing processing and an apparatus for the method. SOLUTION: In a method for producing an embossed decorative sheet in which a sheet is inserted while being heated between an embossing roll having an uneven pattern and a press roll to be embossed, a seamless belt is inserted so that the sheet is placed on the side of the embossing roll, arranged along the surfaces of the embossing roll and the press roll before and after pressing by the embossing roll and the press roll, and cooled in a place where the seamless belt is not placed along the surfaces of the embossing roll and the press roll and on the back of the embossing roll.
