PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water supply method for a washing machine preventing the yellowing and smelling of recovered water by eliminating minimum ion and the like using a reverse osmosis device suppressed to small capacity. SOLUTION: This washing machine is so constituted that washing drainage produced by washing and rinsing is subjected to cleaning treatment by a washing drainage cleaning device 100 provided with at least an activated sludge processing tank 104, a precision tank filter 105 and a reverse osmosis tank filter 107 and that cleanes water is returned s treated water used for a rinsing process. In the first half of the rinsing process, precision filtered water led out of the precision tank filter 105 is used as rinsing water singly or in combination with fresh water 20, and in the last half of the rinsing process, reverse osmosis filtered water led out of the reverse osmosis tank filter 107 is used as rinsing water instead of he fresh water 20 or in combination with the fresh water 20.
