The invention relates to a washing machine with a simple construction which is provided with solar collectors for converting solar energy into electric energy and for converting solar energy into thermal energy, in order to drive the machine and to produce hot washing and rinsing water. Said washing machine has a control device which only allows the initiation of one or more washing and rinsing programmes if the housing access point is closed, if the storage battery for driving an electric motor is sufficiently charged for said washing and rinsing programmes and if there is a sufficient quantity of hot water which has been heated to between 45 and 60 DEG Celsius. |
