PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a history managing file system for surely executing file creation and file update such as content change and deletion in the history management of a file to frequently update contents in a personal computer or work station. SOLUTION: A computer system 1 is provided with an automatic history managing system 12. This automatic history managing system 12 is provided with a file system monitoring process 13 for always monitoring access from an editor 11 to a secondary storage device 3 storing a file 342, a history managing process 14 to be triggered by this process 13, and a history managing command 15 for registering/editing the file into a history managing database 4.
