PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter excellent in spectral characteristics and contrast ratio and having high heat resistance, light resistance and chemical resistance. SOLUTION: The color filter is obtained by arranging a plurality of color layers having different spectral characteristics adjacent to one another on a substrate, and using a dye having an anthraquinone framework expressed by general formula (I) for at least one color layer of a plurality of color layers.
