<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape machining device which can highly efficiently produce a magnetic tape that has excellent characteristic to cause no slippage despite of a high tape feeding speed and also to reduce a cupping. SOLUTION: This magnetic tape machining device is provided with a hollow cylindrical drum which can freely revolve, a revolving means which revolves the drum around its axis, an optical system which emits a planar laser beam on the inner side face of the drum to form a line, a feeding device which places a magnetic tape at a machining position set on the optical path of the laser beam that is made incident on the inner face side of the drum and transmitted through a through-hole and at the same time feeds the tape in its lengthwise direction matched with the drum revolving direction with a back layer turned toward the drum and a differential pressure generating means which generates the differential pressure between the inside and outside the drum.</p> |
